Google Checkout & Froogle Embrace!
Good Tuesday. Just some personal information between you and the three other loyal readers of my blog; it’s 1PM and I just rolled out of bed. I am so ashamed. And the bed bugs do bite.
The big news of the (yester)day is that Google Checkout has finally decided to work in tandem with a shopping engine called…FROOGLE! Wait a minute. I just realized that Google Checkout & Froogle are part of the same company! Not sure what the delay was all about, but again, this is a wise move. Google Checkout Blog Post.
FYI, this concept, the alignment of Google Checkout and Froogle is something I suggested over a month and a half ago! This is from my revenews blog (07/27/06): Also, while Google is promoting checkout on their homepage, I am surprised there is NO mention of google checkout on the Froogle homepage! Anyways, it’s a good thing for Checkout; adding exposure to a new audience & giving Geckout merchants a leg-up on Froogle.
Enjoy the screen shots. It gives you a clear picture of what this partnership means. Basically, if you froogle a product, the results will show you which merchants use Geckout to sell this product.
