People for the Ethical Treatment of Bloggers (PETB)
I’ve had it. Up to here. This has got to stop. ASAP. I belong to a group of people. We do not represent any race or ethnic group. We do not align ourselves with any political party. Yet there is a commonality that links us at the core of our contributions to society.
We have been mocked. Scoffed at. And ridiculed. Why? I do not know. There is a fear and loathing aimed in our direction. We have been held in contempt since the sprouting of our existence. A few of us have managed to gain self-respect. But they are few and far. The rest of continue to endure the pain of discrimination.
Who are we? We are bloggers. And “we get no respect” by the editors and publishers of most traditional media outlets. I am fed up.
Hence, I have taken it upon myself to form an organization called PETB: People for the Ethical Treatment of Bloggers. Like PETA, this organization will fight to end cruelty. However, whereas PETA is for the ethical treatment of animals, PETB will fight for the rights of human bloggers.
FYI, PETB will be open for ALL bloggers, human or not human. So, if you are a goat with a blog and feel you are being shortchanged, please know that you are welcome to join PETB.
Who am I? I am the Rosa Parks of web 2.0. Here is a YouTUbe clip of myself, in a coffee shop, working on this concept.
Enough is enough. We demand R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
For today, we have launched the name and mandate for our group. In the following days, we will build a coalition of bloggers with the objective of getting results. If you’d like to participate, please send an email to oneparkavenue at gmail dot com.
Bloggers unite to fight!

[…] The reason why I refer to these blogs as Feeder Blogs is because a significant number of stories from these blogs ultimately end up on the front-pages of the three most popular social bookmarking sites. We should acknowledge and respect the service that these feeder blogs provide for us by giving them credit where its due. Furthermore, if you continue to fail to do so, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Bloggers will be on your case in no time! […]

Even my mother (who’s now 77) tells me she’d like to publish her “comments”, “views” and “opinions” on the internet if she had any luck at getting comfortable with the technology.
Since computers are getting more accessible all the time, in a few years, maybe you’ll be seeing millions of new “older (much older)” bloggers join your initiative.
So all in all, you’re holding a “golden key”, my friend ; )

I’ll handle the PR. Maybe Edelman can pitch in too! They’re great at this kinda stuff. Wonder what Mrs. Parks’ Edelman-inspired flog would’ve looked like, had they been around way back in the day? Rosa Across American! Catchy eh?
