Playboy Releases Flaccid Financials
Playboy is waning. The bunny is wailing. And Christie is explaining. On the print side, playboy is losing money to other forms of advertising and higher postage expenses. The TV end lost an exclusive with DirecTV and other cable competition. And “the e-commerce decline primarily reflected the receipt in the prior- year period of a one-time payment for the termination of a direct-marketing alliance”.
Playboy also laid off 30 employees. No word on whether Heff will layoff a girlfriend, or two, or three, to help reduce operating costs…
